Glenwood Springs!

We took a trip to Basalt to see Uncle Stacy and Aunt Norah. We decided to spend the day in Glenwood Springs, since we have never really explored that town. We had a fun day. We went to the Glenwood Springs Adventure Park where the boys had a blast.

Jackson rode the Alpine Coaster with Daddy:

He also rode the "Giddy Up". It was ride that took you in the air and did a couple of small free falls. I wish I had video because Jackson had the best time with the biggest smile on his face!!

Brady just ran around and smiled the whole time. He loved hanging out with Uncle Stacy:

Dustin and Uncle Stacy rode some crazy swing that appeared more like some sort of death trap!

After lunch we headed to the Hot Springs pool. As always, the boys enjoyed themselves! Brady wanted Aunt Norah to hold him the entire time.

We had such a great time visiting and we will be back again soon. Uncle Stacy promise to take us rafting!

Happy 17 Months, Brady

I have not given updates in a while, but want to do a post to catch up on all that Brady has been doing lately!

Brady, here is what has been going on in the last few months. You took your first steps around 14 months but were very stubborn and did not walk full time until 15 months. You are now beginning to run more and get really excited every time you run. You never really had the Frankenstein walk and once you decided to walk you just got up and went.

You love the play fort in the backyard and climb up the ladder by your self and you love to slide down. You love the swing and could sit in there all day!

You are becoming more and more verbal everyday. You can sign: more, milk, all done, please, and thank you. You add new words all the time and really try and repeat everything you hear. My favorite is "no" which you began to repeat after Jackson repeated that word 50 times in the car one afternoon. Just the other day you were carrying around a stuffed hippo and when I said "hippo", you repeated "popo" then got excited you said it and continually repeated it.

You are the sweetest little boy. You blow kisses to everyone (including all the ladies at the grocery store), you will lean in for a kiss from mommy and daddy and always give your stiffed animals kisses. You love your nanny, Kristy and get excited every time she opens he door in the morning. For a period you were solely a mama's boy, but now you have moments where daddy is the only one you want!

When we went to Costa Rica this month and left you with Grancy and Rachel and Grandma and PaPa, you did really well. You preferred Rachel and apparently would not leave her side and fussed every time she left your sight. After that, apparently you preferred Grandma and only wanted Grandma to take care of you. You certainly have a mind of your own and know exactly what you want.

You are also extremely goofy and love to dance. You always do the funniest things. The other day you were trying to put small Tupperware on your feet like shoes and then walk around. You were so patient trying to get them on and so proud when it finally worked!

You do love to dance and can't help yourself whenever you hear music. Jackson loves to dance with you and will say "shake your body Brady" I love you and Jackson's "dance parties"- the two of you always make me smile!

You are also a very stubborn little guy and have begun throwing tantrums. You will get angry and either throw your self onto the floor (belly flop style) or throw your arms in the air and do a tantrum dance. But, your tantrums are generally short lived and mommy and daddy (and Kristy) have to work not to laugh.

You continue to be enamored with your big brother. You say his name (or some version of his name) and smile every time you see him. Jackson loves to come in to your room in the morning and get you books and toys while you wait in your crib. You two play together more and more and love to run around causing trouble in Jackson's room and mommy and daddy's room. I love watching you two and hope you are always close!

You continue to be a laid back little guy and are just such a joy to be around. We love you very much and can't wait to see what the next months and years bring as you grow!

Pool Party

One of our friends had their son's third birthday party at a pool. Jackson and Brady had a blast.

Brady loves the water just as much as Jackson, although he seems to be a bit more cautious. I guess only time will tell if that stays true. He discovered the bubbles, checked them out, then decided to taste them...silly boy!

Jackson swam and played with Caroline:

Then, it was time for cake...a cute and delicious Curious George cake. Brady thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was a fun day celebrating Reed's third birthday!

Back Home

Speaking of pictures, Dustin and I got the to the airport to head to Costa Rica and discovered that we left the camera at home! We did get a couple of disposable camera there, but it is not the same as a digital camera. Oh well.

We had a great time, but were very excited to get home and see the boys. We brought them matching t-shirts, which Jackson loves and wears any chance he gets! We came home to a rain storm, but Jackson and Brady wanted to play in the rain. We were just happy to watch them have fun!

While the Aldridges were here they bought a few toys for the boys. One of those toys was a scooter. Brady loves it.

Visitors

Dustin and I planned a vacation for the two of us to Costa Rica. So, my mom (Grancy) and cousin Rachel came to visit and then watch the boys for a couple of days.

Their first day here, Rachel dressed up Brady and spiked his hair!

They took such good care of the boys. The took the boys swimming, to the Children's museum, out to eat, and just entertained them for a couple of days. I don't have any pictures of their adventures since my mom does not take pictures!

But, Jackson and Brady had such a great time. From the stories I hear, Brady would not let Rachel leave his sight and Jackson wore my mom out! My mom also shared that she got lost in our neighborhood and somehow Jackson managed to get her to our house! I was amazed. After telling her where to turn, when they arrived, Jackson threw up his hands and yelled "you made it!" So funny!

Thanks guys for taking care of the boys while we got away. Next, the Aldridges arrived in town to relieve Grancy and Rachel...hopefully they will send some pictures and I can update the blog!

Hiking

We took the boys hiking up near Red Rocks at Matthews Winters Park.

We all had a great time. Both boys love the outdoors and enjoy exploring. Jackson lasts about 15 minutes walking on his own so there is a lot of back and forth between shoulders and walking. But, he gets better with each hike.

Summer BBQ

We recently had some friends over just to hang out and catch up. Plus, our friends, Kay and Clay and their girls, just moved back to Denver from Houston.

It was a nice evening and the kids had a great time.

They discovered the slide train and thought it was fantastic:

Played and enjoyed the swing:

Avery was a bit little for the train and a little overwhelmed by the big kids, so she hung out in the swing and watched:

A fun evening for everyone!

Daddy's Boy

Sometimes Brady is a momma's boy- but has recently been requesting daddy more and more.

On this occasion, Brady refused to let me hold and comfort him and only wanted his daddy! Even though he was busy, Dustin was accommodating!

Dress Up

This is the closest we get to "dress up" in this house.

Jackson as a nicely accessorized construction worker:

And a Fort Worth Zoo Keeper:

This shirt is size 18 months and belongs to Brady!
