Visit from Poppy and Grandma

Grandma (MJ) and Poppy came to visit for an early Christmas. They had to watch Brady on Friday while Jackson and I went on a field trip with his class to the Aquarium.

Brady was so happy to see them:

And of course, the first thing he wanted to do, was read books with Poppy:

I think they had a good day while we were away. Next up Christmas crafts and an early Christmas!

Indoor Picnic

Jackson read a book about a picnic and wanted to recreate it exactly the way it was in the book. Unfortunately, it is December and we don't have a blue dog named Blue.

Regardless, I did the best we could. And both boys really enjoyed themselves!

Santa Train

It was time for the annual trip to the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad for a trip on the Santa train.

Brady waiting in anticipation for the train ride to start:

(Jackson was describing the big electric train that he wants.)

The whole family:

There is something about these pictures of Jackson playing on the railroad tracks that makes me think of that movie "Stand By Me"

It is crazy to see how things change in just one year:

Always a good time and a fun Christmas tradition!

Still a House Divided

We are still trying to brain wash our kids! So, of course we had to dress them up for the Texas vs. A&M game. The bet is that whoever wins the game the year before, the kids wear that team's gear.

So, they were dressed appropriately as Longhorns this year:

(the only shot I could get of Jackson)

Dustin trying to teach Brady to "gig em":

A rare shot of me and my boys:

(Notice Brady's hair clip...the boy loves to accessorize)

The game did not end so well, so unfortunately (for me) the boys will be in maroon again next year.

Skiing

Jackson went skiing for the first time today. Dustin and Jackson went to the mountains with some friends while I stayed with Brady. From what I heard the day was a success and Jackson loved skiing! He actually liked eating snow the most, but still enjoyed the actual skiing!

Getting ready to leave:

Evelyn, Alex and Jackson

Taking a break with Alex and her Daddy:

Taking another break with Alex to eat some snow:

Relaxing in the lodge:

And on the ride home:

Dustin did not get pictures of Jackson actually skiing since he was with him, but I am just so happy Jackson loved the experience!

Tree Lighting

Our town center does a tree lighting each year. It is tons of fun. They have music going and fire pits to make s'mores. The boys had a great time and it really put us in the holiday mood.

In the midst of all the fun, this was the only picture I could get by the tree:

Kristy and Oliver

Kristy, Jackson and Brady's nanny from the past year, had a baby and moved to LA. We wanted to get some pictures before she left. Unfortunately, Brady was napping!

Jackson and Baby Oliver:

Jackson, Oliver and Kristy:

Thanks Kristy for taking such great care of the boys. They will miss you! Keep in touch and come visit soon!

Monster Mash

They had a "Monster Mash" in Northfield that we went to.

There the boys got to make crafts:

Then they had a hula hooping contest- which neither boy wanted to participate in. So, Brady just stood there looking cute:

Then, we left to run around and climb and they boys had a blast:

My three favorite boys:

Jackson's Mask

Jackson went to a play date at his friend Alex's house. He made a mask that he absolutely loved:

And Brady loved it as well:
